| Overview | [ Top ] | [ Bottom ] |
 | The "Hotel Goldener Hirsch" - A Luxury of the special kind.
The "Goldener Hirsch" in Salzburg, today meeting-place for the international society, goes back to 1407: Back then the first inn opened it's doors. Since 1564 the name "Güldener Hirsch" appears. The façades of the "old building" and the adjoining building, which was acquired in the Seventies, have been kept simple and unobtrusive. Understatement to the outside, luxury only behind the bulky old door. The "Goldener Hirsch" is just completely different from all the other world-class hotels, of which it is one. | | Sitting in an enviable position in the Old Town, a few doors from Mozart's birthplace, it's composed of three medieval town houses joined together in a labyrinth of rustic hallways and staircases. | | In every room guests will find original antique hand made Austrian furniture of highest quality which will make customers feel comfortable and cosy. Each room is individually furnished, and all of them are styled in yellow, blue, red or pink. The highest technical standards, impeccable cleanliness and excellent, personal service are trademark of the Hotel Goldener Hirsch. | | Restaurant Goldener Hirsch:
Countless local and national restaurant guides have designated the Restaurant „Goldener Hirsch“ as the very best in town.
Its cuisine is a superb combination of traditional local specialities and new creations in the spirit of contemporary creative cooking.
The Wine Cellar boasts a selection of the very best Austrian wines together with superb vintages from the world´s great estates.
Opening Hours 12.00 a.m. to 02.30 p.m. - 06.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.

The „Herzl“ has been an insider´s meeting point for a long time and is the ideal venue to enjoy home-cooking in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
Opening Hours 11.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.
Bar:
The “Bar” is the favourite meeting place of many well-known international personalities and invites guests to its covered inner courtyard for aperitifs. May we arrange a “rendezvous with Susanne” for you? It’s the famous cocktail of the Hotel Goldener Hirsch – a great taste combined with a story of tradition.

| Room Features |
| Street-side units have double-glazed windows. All are beautifully furnished and maintained. Bathrooms are generous in size, with shower-tub combinations and robes. | | The hotel, an old patrician home which dates back to the 13th century, and its rooms are all furnished in a traditional Salzburg style with local country antiques. All room categories have a similar standard (or quality) of furnishings; i.e. individually controlled air-conditioning, soundproof windows, private bath/WC, two/three telephones with two lines, satellite-TV, radio, minibar, etc. The main difference between the categories lies in the actual size of the rooms. The Festival Wing category comprises our largest and most luxurious rooms (approx. 33m2 - 48m2 total). These rooms were all recently remodelled and have lovely, large private baths & WC, done in marble and handmade Italian tiles, as well as a nicely appointed sitting area with sofa, coffee table and two fauteuils. Exclusive rooms (approx. 28m2 - 32m2 total) have a similar sitting area with a small coffee table and two fauteuils. The Classic category (approx. 24m2 - 27m2 total) would be our so-called „standard“ rooms, are somewhat smaller in size and have no “view” as such. Suites consist of a double-bedded room, bath, WC and small adjoining salon or sitting room (approx. 42m2 - 65m2 total). | | The majority of the rooms in the Festival Wing category look out over the von-Karajan-Platz toward the opera house and probably have the „best view“, a few look out on the Getreidegasse. and two or three to an inner courtyard. A number of the Exclusive rooms also face the picturesque, but somewhat narrow, Getreidegasse or an inner courtyard. With the exception of the Suite in our Kupferschmiedhaus and the hotel’s newest Suite, all of the hotel’s other Suites look to a quiet inner courtyard and have no „view“ as such. The KSH Suite’s bedroom is located on the Getreidegasse and the sitting room „overlooks“ a narrow side street. The hotel’s newest Suite is located on the first floor of the main building and also looks across the von-Karajan-Platz towards the opera house. | | May we please ask you to note that all of the hotel’s guest rooms are furnished in the European standard, i.e. double rooms have either one double bed or two twin beds, to accommodate a total of two guests. The so-called Double / Double combination does not exist. Single-bedded rooms have one single bed, to accommodate one guest. King-sized bedding (or, alternatively, two twins) is available in either the Exclusive, Festival Wing or Suite categories. All double rooms in the Classic category are furnished with two twin beds (albeit standing directly side-by-side). A very limited number of non-smoking rooms are available in either the Classic or Festival Wing categories.
The hotel has only three actual inter-connecting possibilities (i.e. a total of six rooms). All of these rooms are in the Festival Wing category (i.e. Festival Wing to Festival Wing). Inter-connecting to a different category or to a single-bedded room is not possible. |
