Overview

The Monks Bunk is owned and run by fellow backpackers. We offer a friendly home environment with cozy dorm rooms and spacious clean bathrooms.

'The Monk' lives in a quiet cobblestoned street directly opposite ye olde city wall, so you'll find yourself only a minute away from the bustling shopping & nightlife area but still enjoy a good night's sleep. The building itself used to be part of the medieval Dominican monastery, know for being the oldest building in the Old Town.

Whether you are traveling in a group or on your own you can always make friends with us or one of our resident ghosts. Sightseeing tours are available, including guided tours to Tallinns favorite local pubs & clubs.

Location & Transportation
DirectionsWe are located in Tallinn's Old Town on Müürivahe 33-15. It is a bit hidden, but if you remember it is along the city wall, it is not so hard to find. Please note: we are located in the YELLOW part of number 33 and there is a little sign next to the door (NOT THE GREEN PART OF THE BUILDING).

From the Airport:
- Take bus number 2 to the A.Laikmaa stop at the Viru shopping center and walk from there to the Old Town. You will see a small flower market: walk there through the Viru Gates and you will end up in Viru street.
- After the Gates turn into the 2nd street to the right. You will see the City Wall and some small market stalls. Walk past the Chinese restaurant and you will see our YELLOW building.

From the Bus Station:
- Take tram 2 or 4 from outside the busstation and get out after the Viru shopping center in front of the Old Town. You will see a small flower market: walk there through the Viru Gates and you will end up in Viru street.
- After the Gates turn into the 2nd street to the right. You will see the City Wall and some small market stalls. Walk past the Chinese restaurant and you will see our YELLOW building.

From the Harbour:
- Walk from the port in the direction of the Old Town: take a left into Mere street till the roundabout. Take a right there through the Viru Gates and you will end up in Viru street. Otherwise cross the street from the port to Uus street and on the end of that turn right into Viru street and immediately another right into Müürivahe.
- You will see the City Wall and some small market stalls. Walk past the Chinese restaurant and you will see our YELLOW building.

If you decide to take a cab, ask them to drop you off at the Hesburger at flower market, just in front of the Viru Gates (cars cant go further).
